B-Sides & Badlands Premieres “Spark” By Peter Donovan & Dune Butler

February 21, 2024

up and over‘s “Spark” burns with a black flame. Gentle, sinister swirls characterize the string-bound track, which serves as the bookender to the forthcoming Red Right Hand, an action thrilling starring Orlando Bloom and Andie McDowell. Penned by songwriters Peter Donovan and Dune Butler, the somber, languid tune, premiering today on B-Sides & Badlands, swims through themes of “resilience and hope,” says Donovan, the mastermind behind the up and over creative endeavor.

With Jen Monette-Bethune and Natalie Colvin on lead vocals, the soundtrack cut “tells a story of overcoming adversity, reflecting the movie’s portrayal of characters battling their way to redemption through various struggles,” continues Donovan. “The song symbolizes the pursuit of a fresh start, embodying the challenges faced along the way.”

Americana UK Premieres Music From Andrew Jobin & The Crispy Boys

January 23, 2024

Andrew Jobin has travelled around – he was born in Houston but now lives in New Orleans and in between he was raised in six different countries.  He’s been on a musical journey too since getting his first Epiphone Les Paul at the age of 14 – let’s say that the siren call of Nirvana was stronger at the time than the riches of the Americana world.  Nonetheless his new album ‘The River Above Our House‘ with his band the Crispy Boys is solidly anchored in a rich variety of Americana.

The album is out on February 23rd, and ‘Eden‘ is the second single from it.  You’ll hear a train track rock and roll beat and a high soaring fiddle, you’ll hear a troubadour voice that rings with honesty as it searches for a green space in an ever crowded world.
